This comprehensive approach has enabled us to build lasting partnerships and support our clients' growth. Many of our customers are in cooperation with us continue to grow and develop, to achieve a win-win situation.

Below are 3 cases for customers who are hesitating to cooperate with us.

Case 1: U.S. Tableware Supplier

Our first case involves a major tableware supplier based in the United States. This client, a prominent player in the American market, faced challenges with their previous supplier, leading them to seek a new partnership. They decided to test Garbo’s capabilities by placing an initial order with us. This order, intended to evaluate the performance of our products and our professionalism, was for one 40HQ container valued at nearly $80,000. The order included 16-piece sets with both all-steel and plastic handles, and 20-piece cutlery sets, all presented in customized color boxes. The chosen material was 430 (18/0) stainless steel, which the client had previously approved based on our sample.

The complexity of this order stemmed from its small quantities and diverse styles. Each set required a limited production run of 1,200 units, which is often challenging for many factories to accommodate. However, Garbo accepted the order to support the client's market and business needs. We managed all aspects of production seamlessly, including scheduling, quality control, and certification processes.

The order was delivered two months before Christmas, and the products quickly sold out, leaving the client with a significant demand they were unable to meet. Feedback from the customer highlighted their satisfaction with the design and quality of our products, and they expressed regret at not ordering a larger quantity. Consequently, the client increased their annual orders to 5-8 containers each Christmas season, demonstrating the success and impact of our partnership.

Case 2: Large Supermarket Chain in Russia

The second case involves a large supermarket chain in Russia, with whom we have been collaborating since 2010. Initially, this client sourced glassware, ceramic, and opal glass tableware from us, ordering 3-5 containers each month. Over the years, as our reputation for high-quality stainless steel cutlery grew, the client decided to expand their sourcing to include cutlery from Garbo. This shift was driven by rising costs from their previous cutlery supplier, which negatively impacted their market position.

In 2018, leveraging the trust built from our prior collaborations, the client placed their first cutlery order with us. This order consisted of 500,000 pieces of cutlery, packed in 24-piece gift boxes with various packaging options such as supermarket tie cards, hanging cards, PVC bags, and gold-plated handles. The large order, totaling five containers, was an indication of their confidence in our products.

Since then, the client’s annual cutlery purchases have consistently increased. Last year, despite a challenging economic climate, they ordered 15 containers of stainless steel cutlery. This significant volume, even in a recessionary market, reflects the strong marketability of Garbo's products and the competitive edge of our pricing and quality.

Case 3: Distributor in Southeast Asian Market

Our third case features a distributor operating in the Southeast Asian market, with a presence in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The Southeast Asian market is characterized by high competition in the low-end product segment, including 410 (13/0) stainless steel cutlery. Local factories often provide products with varying polishing quality, from machine polish to the lowest-end tumble polish, which creates intense price competition.

Despite these challenges, Garbo managed to secure a significant customer in this highly competitive market. Our ability to offer a range of products—ranging from high to average quality—at competitive prices was crucial in winning over this distributor. The lower sea transportation costs to Southeast Asian countries also played a role in our favor.

The distributor evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of sourcing locally versus importing from us. They ultimately chose Garbo due to our competitive pricing and product quality. Although our starting quantities are higher, typically requiring a minimum of 100,000 pieces per product, the distributor accepted these terms, allowing for effective market distribution across various regions.
